“It’s hard to understand the idea that humans can be so cruel to each other”

While working in diverse populations I have witnessed numerous anti immigration speeches. While working for Tim Hortons as most people know we would hire diverse populations because everyone is looking for work. There would be guests that would come into the store and would refuse to be served by someone who even looked to be an immigrant.

Over the course of 3 years working in fast food it was a matter of asking people to physically leave the location or asking them to apologize, it’s hard to understand the idea that humans can be so cruel to each other. It’s unfair that those who immigrate here to get more education or to get employment are discriminated against.

“She felt that this was her way of giving back to the community that helped her through her hardship.”

Canada was first home to my family when my grandmother bought our farm back in the 60’s. It was a time that was hard with my family because she had just recently lost her husband and was moving forward with the farm and her 3 kids to provide for the community. She felt that this was her way of giving back to the community that helped her through her hardship.
