“Some of my friends have experienced people calling them names and saying ‘you’re a disgrace to the Canadians'”

Personally, I have never experienced from anyone ‘calling me names’ or telling me to go ‘back to your own country.I know a few friends that went through a tough time being in Canada. Some of my friends have experienced people calling them names and saying ‘you’re a disgrace to the Canadians,’ ‘ go back to your own country, ‘you’re a terrorist (for wearing hijab).’ Some of these victims family members have experienced their backyard being vandalized or their house being egged. There is no way to overcome these obstacles as they should not be happening in the first place. However, these victims just continued with their life hoping that someday it will stop.

I have been living in Canada for over 23 years and to this point, I do not feel that this country is my home permanently. I am just used to the environment and the system.
